Our black 33knots bracelet featured!
For the last week or so it has been raining off and on. And even though it has been warm, the weather does not inspire much more in the way of fashion than a comfy pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. However, I felt the need to get out and do something on this overcast and semi rainy day, so I went to the closet to find a casual, comfortable, and weather appropriate outfit for an impromptu trip the history museum. Mission accomplished!
A rainy day is no need to keep yourself from looking cute. And casual can be made very cute with a little effort and creativity. I opted for my comfortable pair of “go to” skinny jeans (something almost every girl has a pair of) and worked my outfit around them. The shirt was something I haven’t worn in quite some time and while I used to like the fit of it, it doesn’t suit me anymore. But since I love the shirt, I grabbed some ribbon that matched my purse and some safety pins and got creative. By cinching the back I created a semi backless, fitted tank top effect that was just right for pairing with a cute lace bralette. The bralette added a pop of color that was much needed. I finished this look off with my new favorite pair of fold over combat boots and some sleek bracelets.
Don’t be afraid to take something form your closet and change it a bit. Things don’t have to be worn exactly as they are purchased. Take out the scissors or some ribbon and work with what you have. Creativity often leads to new discoveries in style and personality. Plus you might end up with a new hobby. If you need a pace to start, you can always turn to the internet. There are tons and tons of DIY tutorials out there to change or fix anything you want.
The trip to the museum was awesome. I got a good dose of history and had a little bit of (out of the rain) fun. It dawned on me that my wardrobe is similar to a history book. Each piece of clothing has a history that is unique to my experience while wearing it. And in the case of my black 33knots bracelet, it has a history that is unique unto itself as well. History from the museum, history from my clothes, history in my accessories. And always remember: when you dress good, you feel good; and when you feel good, you shine from the inside out!
